One that is close to the base game but doesn't need most of the social elements to acquire pokémon, since I'm going to emulate it on my phone and that's not a possibility for me.

Pretty much Omega Red (although the translation does only major stuff, so some side dialogue happens in Spanish). Updated Kanto with all Alola mons available, forms, Megas, more moves, day/ night, reusable TMs, exp when catching, etc etc

It's really not much of a problem. Unless you're completely unfamiliar with Kanto. All important stuff is also English anyway.

Liquid Crystal or Crystal Dust (forget which one of the two), is pretty much a 1:1 of Crystal, complete with remixed OST and sprites. I played it in 2014, pretty sure it has to be finished by now if it wasn't abandoned.
