You know what would be funny? If GF just put a literal parrot in the game, like, a real life parrot with no design changes except for a cartoony style, and called it "Pretty Bird" or some shit like that. The lore would be that it's named that way because it kept repeating "Pretty bird" over and over again, so the researchers thought that was just its name. It would be treated as a regular Pokemon species, and nowhere in the game it would be mentioned that it came from another planet or anything like that, people would just assume Pretty Bird was always there. In the anime it would say "Pretty bird" and whistle.
