The "quests" in Yo Kai Watch, which are its main plot progression gameplay, can certainly be a lot of "run back and forth from this npc to this other npc" to the point of frustration, but enough of them are still interesting, unique and funny that altogether the good quests, the ones that include unique battles or entertaining cutscenes, still total more hours of real content than the 6th or 7th pokemon gens. YKW3 probably has more hours of unique gameplay than X/Y and Sun/Moon combined and that's not counting the entire 30 hour roguelike game with its own separate gameplay programmed into it.

No, pretty sure it's not a demo. The game is capped at 30FPS max, and sometimes drops below 20FPS.
