Does this game ever pick up? I feel like the previous Mystery Dungeon games went rather quickly, but this is just taking forever

The start is a slog but once you get in the next town you'll be fine

I've personally enjoyed the school bit and wished they'd expand on it with the pals

The school part gets boring sometimes, but once you leave to become a rescue team or whatever it starts to pick up. So just be a little patient.
