i heard that xy boosted sales in france a lot compared to previous generations, but also sun and moon sold significantly more than previous games in france too.

And it has probably been a commercial success due to the fact there are a lot of kids in France ( Compared to birth rate in Japan ), and Japanese culture is really appreciated here (I have heard that France is the second country where there is the largest amount of Manga readers after Japan ).

The ideal way to start moving forward with the Switch would've either been to do a huge remake of Gen 1 (including new species, with a new region - Galar, I guess - following it with more) rather than a shitty mobile-esque demake OR to actually follow through on the original concept for Gen 2, allowing them to pull a bit of a BotW by miniaturizing the original four regions to some extent like originally planned akin to BotW having a shit load of places in it from the rest of the series.

Either one of those would've been great if they put the work in.

It helped that GF went full steam ahead promoting the games in France, with Masuda making frequent guest appearances and even opening a temporary Pokemon center. I don't remember such heavy marketing taking place in Hawaii, and maybe even in Britland. Maybe it was a little like that in NYC during BW launch, I don't remember well.

It does not accurately reflect Britain in any way, from what it looks like so far it only depicts the shit hole that is London and the rural townships thereabouts.
Many parts of England as well as Scotland and Wales have great folklore that would make for interesting Pokémon and fantastic geographies that would be infinitely more interesting than the shit that is being presented.
Also outside of some English towns barely anyone gives a fuck about football, it's like a meme in Britain.

It's also a super tacky mess with all these big buildings in the shape of dragons and giant diglets and mushroom villages.
