>>39417401The most hilarious part of this is that Porygon continued to be developed in the idea of Porygon 2 and Porygon-Z; outside of split-second anime cameos it just doesn't appear in the majority of side media. This is for a Pokemon that, despite being scapegoated for it, was associated with an event that had real-life repercussions; and in the home country of Pokemon, no less.
Jynx, meanwhile, has been pretty much axed from all future developments for 4 generations now in what is probably Nintendo/TPC's greatest act of self-flagellation, despite the relative lack of recorded impacts on the public in general. It didn't even get any attention going on from Gen IV, which IMO, on the possibility that Game Freak was originally going to have something planned for Jynx, the pressure from the other two companies eventually eroded their plans away, and they've adopted the same stance on Jynx since.
The fanbase can speculate on the multiple theories of design origin (I find the "empty body" one based on the Stadium defeat animation to be an interesting angle) but it is likely that the franchise prefers this part of Pokemon to be as forgotten as possible. Unless something spectacular is planned for it in Galar, it'll probably remain that way until the last days of the franchise.
