No, it's not.

It's an amazing idea but it was executed horribly. Had the remake bothered to put in the effort to expand on or fix the problems with the ideas it had it'd have probably been the best part of any game to date. But most of the original frontier is just boring and needlessly frustrating in a very unfun way, and trying to grind the BP for tutor moves makes the entire thing an obnoxious slog.

I wouldn't rely on /vp/ for what pokémon games they recommend. I personally haven't played either because my 3ds is fucked but judging by what my mates have said about the games they'd thought it pretty good and besides USUM they thought this was the best games out of the 3ds lineup.
