being gay doesn't make you special, no one wants to know whether you fuck women or men or whatever eldritch horror that you do, by inserting that completely needlessly you are either shoehorning that to push an agenda or some sort of perversion you get off to, in either of those cases it is a bad practice as it has more often than not no relevance whatsoever, and it should be scorned, if anything it is offensive to the same homos because a generalizing statement and a lot of assumptions are being made about their character just because of their sexuality, same goes for race too.
