I didnt even get to finish emerald, it was so boring and I was too tired of that game to pass through victory road, having to find a city under fucking water in a giant map of water? Hoenn is a mess and the only gym leaders I can remember are Roxanne, your dad, and a girl called Winona, which I also cant remember her design

Even the sequels like bw2 reuse so much that it doesn't really count. hgss is the only one that actually had a lot of effort put into it.

I still don't get people jacking these games off. They were so fucking boring, especially compared to BW. They took all the substance from BW's story out and all they had instead was more Pokemon to catch and the hard mode in Black 2 which you only got after beating the base game which like I said is fucking boring.
The games always have to face the problem of feeling like a fucking checklist of
>Go to town
>Do thing in town/area near town to get gym leader to show up
>Do gym
>Move on
>Occasionally do something with evil team
And B2W2 fell into that HARD while BW was able to hold past it through N being actually compelling, Cheren and Bianca's stories being fairly good things to break it up, and villain plot straight up busting down your E4 run.
SM did the same thing. The trials and totems already offered at least some diversity, but then they had really good characters and actually interesting villains.

Has GF fucked up a lot with S/S? Certainly. But that's due to their higher ups fucking over the development team that clearly do have talent and are trying their best given the circumstances. The game isn't even bad, it's just not amazing and worth cutting half the dex to people because Masuda put this idea out that the development team are the ones at fault for not having the resources or time to make shit happen when that problem was entirely on the management's end.
Fuck, I wouldn't even be surprised if they COULD put the Pokemon in and the higher ups just made a flat corporate decision to cut the dex and used that "for quality" thing as BS to throw the dev team under the bus.

GF is definitely to blame, but the thing is it's the ones RUNNING GF that I blame, not the development team that honestly did make a very solid mainline Pokemon game from the looks of things despite how much they got fucked over.
The game looks fine by mainline game standards, the problem is that Masuda raised everyone's expectations by claiming he cut the dex for quality when it was clearly a corporate decision.

I'd rather see more people saying FUCK MASUDA then shitposting with some unpolished animation/model and going "GF IS LAZY"

Those are about all the positive things I can say about the game, though I'll admit they were better games compared to Sun and Moon, though barely.
