Not every town has a Professor to start people out with a Pokemon. What would you choose if you lived in a town with no lab?

Also, what town would you like to live in?
Personally I've always hada soft spot for Pewter City and Celadon. Pic also related.

I think Fuschia would be pretty cool. First trip to the safari zone to roam around and find my first pokemon would be pretty neat.

Nimbasa, easily. Favorite city by far, plus route 4/the desert resort in Unova is one of the best routes for me, full of lower level pokemon I love and usually adds 2 slots to my team every time i play a unova game.

If I lived in a town with no lab I'd just get my parents to buy me a pokemon. Honestly you can buy some in Celadon city, my starter would probably be one of the pokemon you can buy like Dratini or Nidoran. And they'd stay unevolved because I wouldn't be a good trainer yet. Also, my parents had a hard time teaching me to swim, so they'd most likely get me a dratini as a living pool noodle to keep me safe.
