However if you showed me the normal pokemon, not the gigamax form or whatever, i think id believe it easily and probably just be happy that theres more pokemon.

I hate this fucking thing so much. Why did everyone decide Fairy type was either pink, ribbons, hearts or food? Fairy type is such a thematically weak and shitty type- I can't think of a single fairy type that is good concept wise that wasn't another type before.
Also it being whipped cream based makes no fucking sense. They couldn't even handwave it like with Vanilite's line being made of snow and ice and just happening to look like ice cream. This thing is literally made of and dispensing whipped cream. How does that work. Does it use its fucking breast milk and whip it into froth and feed it to unsuspecting children? Is this species female only? Disgusting.
And this giant form is retarded too. Yeah, it turns into a literal cake somehow. Where did the ingredients for cake come from? The eggs? The butter? The flour?
Unless it turns out that this species is relatively new and came about from possessed whipped cream or something I don't understand how this can exist in any way that isn't legitimately disgusting. What the fuck.

I don't think I'd believe it was real because of how different it looks from what I knew at the time, or I'd just think the top was the Pokémon, which I guess is kinda accurate.

Digimon of that era have a distinctive style so I would not think that. Even the anime art maintained the unusual proportions. Were it a Digimon it would have some kind of monstrous mouth or overt mechanical features. (Mareanie and Toxapex looks more like Digimon.)

Now if you were talking about later than 1999 I could definitely see it being a Digimon. Maybe something in the Weddinmon line.
