There's a reason most people skip yearly shit like Fifa several years in a row.
When you throw them out there constantly, you're oversaturating the market. Same goes for bandwagon devs for the hot new idea. People are just going to stick to one of them for a while so releasing 80 call of shooties or 116 fortnots doesn't do anything except grind down people's acceptance of them.
Releasing one game every 5 years or so and using filler side releases in between is the right way to do it without annoying people with it.
When people care about things they like to put time into it too so alongside removing shit they like which damages consumer trust, constantly releasing new ones does nothing but damage consumer desire.
