Then you are very misguided. Playing even Red/Blue you can see elements that were ahead of their time. Pokémon made the RPG structure accessible for practically anyone. Pokémon didn't outsell Final Fantasy VII just because there were more playable characters.

You're taking what Pokémon was and even still is compared to other RPGs for granted.

It's not inconvenient applies even if you separated them into both during and post Pokémania. Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon have the most Pokémon and they are not the best selling post Pokémania games. Gold/Silver are not the best selling games during Pokémania.

What? No it hasn't. The games been in development for 3 years, with the first year apparently being for "concepting" while the last 2 have been production.
That said, yes, they did drop the ball with the retarded decision to make LGPE and Town a thing splitting their focus from what should have been their sole development for this introductory period. They hired extra people for XY when they made the jump to 3D and needed 720 new mons modeled and animated. They should have at least hired a few more people for S/S to handle the jump to HD but I really doubt they did.
