Now it's a bulky attacker that can potentially make use of Merciless instead of being a fat fuck that makes games take 10-20 turns longer than they should.

Canonically there's nothing "Poison" about this line. Even if they wanted to keep Golbat and Zubat Poison there was no reason to make Crobat remain Poison. All the dex entries are about being bats, there's no reason they should be in the same type as Koffing and Muk.

The closest thing to Poison they have is carrying fucking Rabies.

Samurott’s design is fine as it is. That design looks allot worse(why is it wearing clothes? Why does it have armor when it still looks like a ronin?)
