If that's true, there would have been universal backlash at SWSH.
People are angry because they wanted Gen8 to be better than a 3DS game with N64 textures.

The only reason people care about mobile games is because the mainline games are low effort trash.
It blows my mind that Masuda thinks console games will lose to phones when all you need to do is make it so the game is so good people will PREFER playing them over using their phones. Instead of this he's gone the opposite direction and filled the game with cutscenes, removed content and difficulty and then tries to blame the mobile market. Masuda fucking sucks.

Yes, the main line games are meant to be the jewel in the crown, with Go, Let's Go and Go as smaller jems.

When Go was released it was then when main line games were going to suffer and die a death.

Game Freak, separate from other developers should have put up more 9f a fight, especially when many players don't or can not play the mobile games.

SwSh could have been a masterpiece but they neglected the games. That's sad. If any region and Dex needed culling and cutting it's Unova and most of it's Dex.

Wrong. "Autistic nerds" are angry. Mad they can't have all of their Pokemon, so now they're pretending to care about graphics. But the 3DS games already looked bad, the Gameboycolor games already looked bad compared to other games.

Pokemon has always been technologically primitive, a minority of autists is mad now, but it'll sitll sell 15 million at the end of it's run.

Masters looks boring or a nostalgic time waster at best, anyone saying they’re more excited about a game with literally mobile level content and being able to do about 1/10th of what you can do on the console more than a full installment in a new generation is a temper tantrum throwing teenager.

What if gamefreak and nintendo decided to make sword and shield as shitty as they could on purpose so that people would switch over to movile where all the future pokemon games may be developed?
Just think about it, pokemon GO was a huge success and the movile market is far larger and more profitable than consoles.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if pokemon eventually became a predominantly mobile franchise and the console games were relegated to spin-off status
