Beast special attack/good bulk yet it just feels slow and useless most of the time. Not nearly as bad as my Cofagrigus in the same White 2 run though, thing does not carry its own weight

from a gameplay perspective, venusaur is the best gen 1 starter by a long shot

Any pseudo. They're good, but they evolve too late. This isn't an issue in nu-pokemon, but I remember playing Platinum and having all my team fully evolved by the 6th badge except Gabite. Fucking ground shark didn't evolve until the Victory Road

Gible and Goomy carry their own weight fairly decent in their respective games. Both come mid-game, evolve fairly quickly into Gabite/Sligoo, and get stuff done until they're ready to evolve for the last time.
