>>39445189It's not so much that B2W2 is great but rather that XY onwards is not as good. Outside of /vp/, the main consensus on the Pokemon series since Gen 6 is that they're just ok. The problem begins with the fact that Gamefreak gets away with mediocrity since their games are mostly inoffensive and they pander to the casual audience instead of the JRPG and competitive ones.
Sword and Shield is probably just going to be yet another decently inoffensive game in the grand scheme of things but for the first time a large amount of people are finally catching up on their bullshit thanks to the removal of the National Dex.
