Sun just sounds like 75% fire type moves, 20% sunny-day-related grass type moves, 5% random moves that happen to mention the sun IE Morning Sun. Same goes for the pokemon that gain the typing.
Night type is just the same thing but with even less of an identity, varying from "pokemon that are nocturnal" to "dark types" to "pokemon related to aspects that happen at night" to "poison types" for inexplicable reasons. And as for moves, literally the only two that come to mind are Night Shade and Moonlight and that's exclusively because of the names.
You know your idea is dogshit when it sounds retarded in comparison to sound type or cosmic type. For that matter, cosmic type easily fills most of the sun and night type niches and then some without being needlessly specific.
