Digimon objectively get better designs, have a more consistant aesthetic flair, have better stories and better relationships between the humans and the monsters.
While in pokemon the monster will cry or some shit and then some character will say "wow it looks like fuckimon is really sad he must miss doing some gay animal shit these pokemon do", Digimon will have complex characters for each monster who will articulate real emotional nuance.
But in the end pokefags don't want this.
They don't like the idea of monsters as friends they want monsters as retarded hampster they make fuck 100 times until they've eugenically perfected the perfect hamster to squeak every time it's sent into battle.
