Which starter is the most suitable for a monotype run in Pokémon Red?

The choices are Poison, Water and Flying, since Grass and Fire have an awful selection of Pokémon.

I blasted through the entire game with just the Squirtle line, so water would probably be easiest.

Flying gives you a pretty wide selection of secondary types in the long run. Water has the most solid pokemon, and is the only one of those that lets you get psychic types. Poison gets you Nidoking early, but aside from that has a lackluster selection

You can go with Poison mono type or water like this anon >>39454659
But be careful, if you if you want mono Poison, make sure to have an overleveled team just for Sabrina
