>>39458519I do hate musicians, I've hated every music teacher I had back when we were forced to take those classes in Elementary. They're horrible people, but maybe "hate" is a strong word towards music itself.
I never really "listened" to music growing up as an individual hobby, music for me always existed as an enhancer for multifaceted arts like film and video games. I grew up with my grandparents and it was oldies 24/7 in the car, so I never found "myself" in music, and I've just never formed an attachment to bands, genres and so forth. I've been to one small concert cause I was invited by a friend from school and thought I might like it cause they were playing Mario themed music, but the atmosphere made me very uncomfortable. I'm trying to do better about it now, I've started listen to weird stuff like Australian new wave bands, and I've been trying to get into Trent Reznor's stuff (I worry if I'm "too old" for that kind of music though)
My point being is that music as a hobby, culture, and circle is scary, I was never bred to have a personal investment in it and at the age of 27 it feels like I'm super behind the curve. Music discussion is very common and because of it I feel like I have issues associating with my generation, I don't know what's topical and what people are saying. However I love monkeys, apes, King Kong and Donkey Kong games, but now I fear my favorite Sword & Shield starter is being tainted by music themes, which are very off-brand for me. I don't care about Roxie and truthfully I don't think there's a single audio-esque Pokemon I've liked so far. Maybe Kommo-o...?
