Why can't he win a league but just get absolutely destroyed by an elite 4 member with just one pokemon, easy as that. Winning a league doesn't make a master I just gives you the right to fight the elite 4 and current champion

Executives have a retarded belief that winning a league tournament means the Pokemon Anime must come to a permanent end even though that's likely not even remotely close to what makes someone a Pokemon Master.

His strongest peak is hoenn but xy was his strongest overall team due to gren. Honestly if ash used all his best Pokemon in a league there should be no way he loses unless he gets another Tobias or a literal champion put against him. He almost beat Alen with Gren and fodder. Infernape on top of Greninja would of been disgusting.

Greninja himself was easily the strongest of all of Ash's Pokemon, but the rest of his Kalos team sans Pikachu were jobbers. That said, Greninja alone is enough to make his Kalos team the strongest.

With Ash-Greninja? Yes
Without Ash-Greninja? Absolutely not.
Despite being his only fully evolved team, Ash’s Kalos team was pretty unremarkable and Ash leaned on Battle Bond as a crutch.

If you wanna see Ash’s best team then look to Hoenn. That was a team of nothing but hardcore bruisers. Even Corphish who wasn’t fully evolved could probably knock out Hawlucha and Noivern easily.

His Hoenn team is pretty much all glass cannons except Sceptile. If you compare teams to regions based on difficulty, Sinnoh and Kalos are really what you'd consider Ash's best teams. Kalos more so because they were dealing with Megas as well.

I think people treat Kalos as if it was harder than it really was for Ash. The only time he had to overcome a Mega Evolution without a proper counter was against Korrina. Most losses Ash ended up facing in that gen really had no excuse either and it was kind of disgusting.

Nah, Swellow is a total tank and probably Ash's best bird. Everyone else except maybe Glalie though, including Sceptile, was pretty frail. The latter got oneshot tons of times as Groovyle.

There were really only a couple where it didn't make sense. The region itself was built on power creep but even then Ash managed to chug through, even Hawlucha has taking down a mega under his belt.

How come they never gave ash a legitimate mega?
With all the Kantoooooing in gen 6, I'm surprised that Mega Charizard Y wasn't used or Glalie with ORAS tie-ins.
Though I guess they were going to give Ash pokemon mainly of that region first, only one pokemon introduced there had the ability to megaevolve. and it would've made sense of his mega to be pikachu if anything (despite being impossible).
