The ideal would be them going back to 2D and using a Mystery Dungeon sprite setup and letting other companies make side series games in 3D again.
No one would give a shit if someone else made a side RPG/battle sim with limited species at a time but only brainlet's don't care about limiting the dex for the main series because of it.
However, Masuda has outright stated that won't be happening anymore because the main series is 3D.
They cause of all of their own problems from the graphicfagging to the limiting of side series.
No one minded waiting until they gave people nothing to do, including nothing in between the main series releases except mobile trash.
