The only way to stop the degrade of Pokemon is to hope some fan secretly makes a 3d Pokemon fan game that becomes massively popular. Something that proves there is interest for a real Pokemon game with effort behind it. That will never happen so Pokemon is doomed to be forever trash.

Ooblets, Monster Crown, Temtem and Monster Santuary all look great. Digimon Cyber Sleuths and Yokai Watch 4 are also on Switch.

it stinks that Pokemon takes over that whole genre. I can say that about a good amount of Nintendo games but Pokemon definitely takes the cake above all else... Yo-Kai Watch's initial heyday was the only thing that ever even remotely came close to Pokemon's level, and even then it was primarily in Japan, and it didn't last 20+ years.

But I don't think that it's "hopeless". If anything, I think that it means we need more.
