You know, for a while now, I thought Special was good but just went down hill and declined in quality over time, but looking back, so much of what I don't like about Special was always present and I just never thought about it.
Like, whats even the point of starters here? The main characters always already have Pokemon already before the story starts. Or pointlessly changing characters, like making characters villains like Gym Leaders and the Elite Four villains, or giving prominent game characters the shaft in writing. And don't get me started on the lengths Kusaka goes to with the protagonists just to go out of his way just so they don't end up "Red 2.0" and such.
And its not even consistent with itself.
Special was always shit.
