Why is it that entertainment companies are allowed to lie to their costumers to such an aggregious extent?
Shouldnt there be laws against this shit? Producers of actual physical goods would have had the shit sued out of them for similar levels of blatant bullshit.

The mesh is clearly the same (you can see the exact same vertices making up the outline of the whiskers/head which is the red lines on the image).
The texture has clearly been updated (higher res with thinner lines/finer detailing since no longer needing big thick lines to show through the 3DS resolution, you can tell by looking at stuff like Gyrados' nose or eyes there).
They did the same thing with the LGPE Pokemon. Only a small handful of mon may have gotten mesh tweaks at most, not full remakes because that'd be stupid and wasteful anyways.

The claim that they remade the models is likely either something being lost in translation, Masuda oversimplifying what the problem was, or, more likely, Masuda lying out his ass and trying to pin rage on the dev team again for what was clearly bad decisions made by the higher ups.
