>>39497306You know, I've seen argument of people trying to nitpick that Game Freak re-using or rehashing assets is a bad thing. I'm not inherently mad at this fact however, as I'm sure and I even know a lot of companies do this to save up time. It's definitely not a first and it's definitely not ending now.
It's the fact that Game Freak (maybe less on Game Freak but a concoction of TPC and Game Freak) know they are under time constraints, plus they know of how TPC manages such things and yet, nothing is really done by TPC to improve said management in order to improve QoL for the development team members themselves, so they don't have to be forced to rehash/re-utilize assets for a BRAND NEW GEN, so they just settle to simply making the game as rushed as possible and get it through the door fence, as long it sales. If it works? Fine, don't fix what ain't broken, but the system still feels pretty underutilized in concerns of its power and potential and the game definitely leaves a very sour taste of bitterness in concerns to polish and overall game being more generically treated (by generic, I mean turning things more simplified, minimalist and not being able to tell something greatly apart despite theme, like the gyms now being generic large colosseums/stadiums) with different themes.
The price definitely shouldn't brand the game itself alone either, but of course people are going to get WORRIED that they're going to pay more for less. And them doing this whole discarding older pokemon thing means they will never learn to put a stop to the series, while they keep churning more and more designs, while older pokemon might only appear if the theme/region sees fit, which is bonkers.
