Why haven't Zacian and Zamazenta become avatars of overcriticism/cringey white knighting like Kyogre and Groudon for Something/Nothing despite their themes being perfect for it?

Kyogre and Groudon are old and familiar, and "Wow it's fucking nothing" is a meme long before it was slapped onto a Groudon holding its arms out.

Zacian and Zamazenta are new and unfamiliar, and tied to games people don't even want acknowledge. No one has had any time to actually get to know them cause the games aren't out, and them being dogs limits the expressions you can do outside of the usual dog memes.

Overcriticism is where it becomes irrational, relying on subjectives and hyperbole. It certainly is a thing but it doesn't invalidate the absolute flood of great criticism SS have gotten.

In all honesty, if you’re a longtime fan and you played through Gens 5, then 6, then 7, you’d understand. There is no hyperbole. The overall quality of the games has really been declining since the shift to 3D and this game is the absolute worst case yet. People who’ve played these their entire lives are now leaving. All the culling decisions for the sake of “quality” don’t justify putting a $60 price tag on a console game-THE “long-awaited” first Pokemon game for a home console-that runs just as poorly as X and Y, yet somehow has even less content than X and Y, a game that is now almost 6 years old.
