Funny story. When I first got the game i had no idea how to leave the house since there was no door so i had to ask my mom to help me. We figured out that you had to leave over the little rectangle.

I know this is bait but I actually got stuck in Viridian since I didn't go in the Pokemart and just kept fighting rattatas and pidgeys until my stater evolved. Then I quit. Restarted the game a few days later and actually waled in the mart this time.

Pokemon was my first 2D RPG when I was 6 and I figured it out. Kids have less patience than they used to. They're so used to getting everything RIGHT NOW that if there's anything that requires them to learn or wait they drop immediately for another one of the millions of games available to them these days.

Same, I had never played a game like this before and was super young, it took a while to think ot walking down into the wall. I figured the rectangle was the door, but just stood on it pressing a the same way I interacted with everything else in the house, thinking maybe I had missed something I needed to do before I would be allowed outside.

Odd little tale of my childhood coming in. I didn’t know after starting up my first save in Red that I needed to keep breathing. My new game didn’t get saved twice in a row because I would just pass out each time and the batteries ran dry. SwSh is perfect.

I know op os baiting but I unironically hate how kids these days need tutorials and handholding for everything in videogames. Or maybe they don't and devs just keep adding annoying and boring tutorials for no reason. I got the game for my 6th birthday. Had a hard time with brock since I chose charmander. Had to go the old nidoran poison and pidgey sand attack method.

I miss the games these days had actual difficulty, I miss getting my ass handed to me by gym leaders and trying to figure out how to beat them.
