>>39518239With my new team I decide to challenge Koga, and while the battle was fairly close, Sandshrew's resistance to his poisons, plus Slowpoke's debilitating psychic attacks gave me the win. They seemed to bond quite well over their combined victory, much to the dissapointment of Tyrogue and Growlithe.
A few days later I received a phone call from home, it seemed that our pet Meowth had died and we would be giving him a burial service in Lavender Town, I was never close to him, but I decided to attend out of respect for my mother and her love for it.
On the way to Lavender Town I managed to catch a calm Oddish who was the perfect fit for the team, for Dratini constantly refused to fight due to her timid nature. Dratini was stored safely away in the PC, while Oddish joined the group as my 6th member.
My mother decided to take a vacation in Cinnabar Island, perhaps to try to forget her grief over Meowth, and she insisted I went along with her. Seizing the moment, I decided to challenge Blaine, where Tyrogue managed to excel. Scyther refused to fight in any battles, but was taking notice of Tyrogue's growing power, he perhaps could eventually become strong enough to challenge him.
The time for the Pokemon League was approaching quickly and I still only had three badges, I knew I would not be able to acquire all the required ones, but regardless I decided to head back to Saffron City once the vacation was over. Three times I attempted to defeat Sabrina, but Scyther's refusal to cooperate, and Dratini's unwillingeness to fight meant I was outnumbered five to six.
Scyther had grown quite fond of Oddish over time, and seeing Alakazam's smug face for the third time after battering his friend Oddish eventually pushed Scyther over the edge, and while he did not heed to my commands, he did defeat Sabrina's team, earning me the Marsh Badge.
The time came, and with only four badges I was not able to join the Indigo League, perhaps next year I'll have better luck.
