About to go for the Victory Road, currently resting at Opelucid before I try the Marine Tube for the first time ever.
After all I ended up evolving the eviolite Lampent annoyer because doing the calcs, it only loses 10 effective points in both defenses in exchange for much better special atk and speed.

I just started a soul silver run. so far my team is cyndaquil and bellsprout.
I was kind of thinking of using a bunch of pokemon have never used before like Sandslash, Marowak and Yanmega.

Just became champion in Ultra Sun. Decidueye really seemed to lag towards the end so I just stopped throwing him out, and Heliolisk became the unexpected VIP of my party. Sad I couldn't get him earlier in. Sand Veil+ Sandstorm, then charge and parabolic charge made him the best on my entire team, with Swampert as a runner-up.

It's only if you try to speedrun it, and only if you choose Mudkip because Marshtomp has the hardest time as it has no reliable moves to hit Grovyle neutraly without taking a lot of damage and Grovyle recovering most, if not all of it.

If you play it naturally, it's just as easy as any other battle.

I'm doing a Nuzlocke, and it's just the first thing that showed up in the Safari Zone. It works as a fast special Mon, so I'll hold onto it until if in something else.

It was never hard to begin with, it's only a speedrun thing in RSE. ORAS and XY are the easiest games on the series and you're proving it by having a late game mon before the 3rd gym
