Pokemon has always been behind on graphics, but they feel it peaked when they got to full 3d games on handheld consoles. Graphics will never improve again, they have a huge library of unused assets they can repurpose for future games, pretending they're new for years and generations to come. By leaving all new data up to ice cream man, the only appeal will be KANTOOO/other nostalgia pandering. On top of that they put legal blocks on emulating old games noone has access to anymore. Without a virtual console store, those games are fugged. Consume product don't ask questions. Anime has become relevant and popular again, tcg is as niche and btfo as always, and games are becoming abandoned by fans exponentially each gen. What will pokemon be other than a brand in the coming years?
