Of all the excuses for the cull, "balanced meta" is actually a true one since there were a highly better meta pre-bank era on all the 3DS games. SmogonFags did ruin the franchise with "much only a few are viable ;)" and that sucks. On 3DS pre-bank era there were people unironically using their favorites "shitmons" and actually winning battles on the killed-by-smogonfags Battle Spot.
