I like individual members of all of them, like Phoebe, Aaron, Drasna, etc, but the original four are still the most memorable for me at least.

Ideal? I'd love to see an Elite 4 composed of world champions: Steven, Cynthia, Alder, and Blue or maybe Diantha, with Red as the Champion.

I like Unova because three of the gym leaders have a strong/weak relationship against each other's types (Psychic, Fighting, Dark). Shauntal is just kind of there, which fits the Ghost theme anyway I guess.

Unova basically for the reasons >>39527035 mentioned, and because of the cool typing and aesthetics.

They would also be my pick for ideal Elite 4 with Marshall being interchangeable. Champion I would like a beefed up Diantha as her room and theme are my fave of the champions.

Caitlin doesn't strike me as a nerd. Shauntal is the nerdy goth. Both Grimsley and Caitlin have an air of elegance/refinement

Unova was the best, there is no way to go around it, while Marshall and shauntal may come as weak personality wise they are just the best gameplay wise.

If I had to pick an aesthetic to it I would go with Grimsley, Bertha, Agatha and Drasna/Drake as much as I love Caitlin her theme and her character she isn't as great as the old seasoned trainers and their ace Pokémon.

Best Elite Four is probably Kanto or Unova.
