What game aside from pokemon has a comparable amount of unique characters with unique models, stat distributions/movesets etc?

NOT a justification of dexcull, just curious about GF's excuses for it

It doesn't matter since the models are already made since 2013. Modelling isn't even that hard, just fucking tedious. But now that you ask, most RPGs and strategy games have more stats and unique calculations for weird events. Pokemon isn't that special

Yeah, XC2's combat isn't hugely deep compared to some games but it's still got way more variables than Pokémon has ever had and was worked on by likely less than a quarter of the staff including localization than even S/M was.

And their excuses matter not. THEY are in control of the deadline and budget. THEY can do anything. Certainly more than any other game dev is capable of doing.

If my company had even 1% of what Game Freak alone owns of TPC the main staff would be out of their minds with happiness.

The structure of a Pokémon is relatively simplistic and once it is created it can be left there as it is. It's not like they have to recreate the stats of every pokemon from scratch every time.
