DPPt had killer percussion in all the songs and I appreciated the attention to percussive detail in these games a lot. This is one of the tracks that best shows it through the timpani usage throughout the song and other details that are sometimes only noticeable with headphones on. If it weren't for the Ghetsis theme, this generation would win hands down when it comes to percussion.

To be fair though, Sinnoh had the most fleshed out encounter themes in the whole series, and went completely downhill after that. The encounter themes were practically their own song instead of a short loop, giving all the trainers personality.
