The HMs as moves aren't as shitty as what most people memed it. Fly is alright to use ingame, as is Surf, Waterfall and the others. The only bad ones are Rock Smash, Cut and Defog, and they're not used much anyway. Plus it isn't the end of the world having a HM slave. You lose 1 mon but keep 5.

Just turn animations off. And it wasn't any better in other gens. People sing high praises over Colosseum but that runs like a slug too.

Be honest anon, have you actually played Diamond/Pearl? And not just Platinum, literally just DP. Even then would you actually use a Fire type on your team usually?

How much HP something has is meaningless because it decreases at a set rate for everything. Specifically, it is locked to the frame rate and they cut it in half without doubling the speed.

Newer games correlate the HP decrease speed with the attack animation speed which was a far better idea for consistency.

Gen 4 isn't much of a "chosen one" story, it's more of a "you happened to be at the right place at the right time" story. Compare with something like ORAS, where legendaries literally jump into your pockets because they can sense WHAT A KIND AND STRONG AND LOVING TRAINER YOU ARE.

Not OP, but I am a sinnohfetus. Fire-water-grass core is the only sensible way to play pokemon and if you disagree you're retarded. This is one of my only problems with d/p (at least platinum gave a few extra fire types) that if you didn't pick infernape and you wanted a fire-water-grass core, you needed rapidash because literally 2 fire types. Magmortar doesnt count because it's postgame. For god's sakes they had a fire elite 4 member who used a fucking steelix, lopunny, and drifblim.

The longest animation in the game is OHKOing a Lv100 Blissey, that's 24 seconds. Everything else is much shorter. If you can't suffer these (which you can turn off, except the HP bars), you have ADHD.

First off heavy story started with Hoenn. I can tell you're a Hoennfag for not thinking that. Second it's slow but not so horrifyingly slow that people would rather slit their wrists than play it like you like to exaggerate.
