A . A strong competent Ash who defeats all his rivals and win the actual league conference but treated like a goofball by everybody around him.

B. A princely chivalrous heroic Ash who is idealized by everybody around him but fails to defeat his rivals and win the league conference.

I have no problem everybody referring Ash as an goofball and idiot as long as he remain a competent and dependable trainer who defeats all his rival and win the league. Plus I already watched many anime where everybody treats the protagonist like like an idiot despite he being smarter, competent and dependable.

No. I want C: a competent and mellowed down Ash who finally gets recognized and stops being shat on. What's so interesting into having a skillful trainer in battle, but an unreliable, edgy and spergy jerkass outside that?? Kids are the core audience and having a poor man's Bakugou as the protagonist who gets constantly shat on, called out and looked down by his close ones and strangers for being a social abortion, yet can get away with his assholery and make others have no option, but to tolerate his presence by force because he's that skillful would deliver a really bad message for a kodomomuke anime. Remember why Beyblade's Tyson was universally hated as a character for being a spergy and edgy asshole and attention whore whose only quality was his natural talent as a beyblader and only people started to warm up to him after having his whole team turning his back against him, recieving a reality check and mellowing down his jerkassery and edgelord-ish behavior in G-Revo. It was because he was just the rival character archetype turned into a protagonist.

You mean a bland and boring Ash with zero personality who lives like popular guy surrounded by his fan club and harem.

There is a reason protagonist like " A" are popular, because they are more interesting. We human are dumb selfish creature so majority of us loves "A" type protagonist because they are more relatable.

What you descried was a loser's perfect version of himself in his own perfect fantasy world.

Dude, there's a gap between a person that isn't type A and Generic Harem Male Protag #456.

Heck type A is just as bad because most of the time they never develop nuance from their mishaps and just become a bland comedy protag themselves. You can make a competent character and still give them things to fuck up on- that's what good writing is for.

First of all, Lana is a mary sue yet she is the most popular character of S/M series.
Second, Gary Stu stand for an idealized perfect flawless character. I don't remember asking for a flawless Ash. I asked for an Ash who is strong and competent because of his 7 region journey who wins the entire league conference by defeating all of his rival but also has flaws that often lead people to treat him like a goofball.

For real though the anime needs a reboot. After galar they should skip 2-5 years into the future, have Ash rechallenge the indigo league and this time win his badges without the pity from the gym leaders, he wins the indigo conference, beats the elite four and becomes the new champion of kanto.

Then that ends the series and we then get a new series set in a completely different pokemon universe that actually has a linear plot with an older protagonist that everyones not bored stiff of.

I never asked for an incompetent Ash, I asked for an competent & experienced Ash who is treated like a goofball by other characters due to his childish and impulsive personality since Ash is a Ten Year Old Child.

Take Iori from Grand Blue, he is often treated as an idiot like the cast but if you look closely than Iori is actually very competent and dependable when he needs to be.

C. Cancel this shitty anime series and reboot the anime and start each season with the region's respective male protagonist as the main character. Get a better, non shounen-shit art style, people who can write an actual plot, etc. Make each season have an actual ending for the main characters.

Pokemon is an anime that follow the game in order to promote it so the Studio can not reboot the show whenever they want

The studio can only reboot the anime when Game-freak decides to reboot Kanto. Unfortunately Game-Freak already rebooted Kanto with LGPE during S/M series which was was a bad time reboot the anime since Alola has nothing to end current Ash's journey.

If Ash won the Kalos League than the studio could have reboot the anime to promote LGPE by ending current Ash's story with Rainbow Rocket saga but somebody from XY writing staff screwed that to pamper Alain.

We have to wait for Game-freak to reboot Kanto again for the studio get another chance to reboot the anime.
