I haven't been happy since ORAS and i don't think there is anything GF could realistically do to win me over.

Length =/= Quality
You can have good and short animations.
The problem for me isn't attack animations though, its the idle animations. They're just too stiff and soulless (not the meme buzzword soulless but in the sense where the character looks like they are literally incapable of thought)
