None of the fire starters have to work with the fire theme since no animal lives in fire.

Every single water type starter is based on an animal that is aquatic or semi-aquatic. Why has no one noticed this?

It IS pretty interesting that Sobble's our first water starter not based on an amphibious animal. There certainly aren't any swimming chameleons out there.

I think Sobble is more concept than anything; a nervous water type with weaponized crying and sweat that makes it "disappear". The only animal I can think of that could fit that idea other than a chameleon would be an octopus, but possibly even BETTER. Cartoon chameleons are noted for that kind of stuff but octopuses do that better than anything

It’s crest isn’t chameleon-like at the slightest

I think it’s partly a basilisk lizard similar to Mudkip being a salamander + mudskipper

I actually think it's nice. All of fire and like half of grass is the type slapped onto whatever animal, and stylizing said animal to fit the type. Water has always been an aquatic creature, period, which I always felt was quite limiting. It's nice finally seeing a non aquatic animal get the same treatment as the other two types.

My autism prevents me from enjoying it. I'd have rather gotten a true fish or a jellyfish or something strange like that before a fucking chameleon. It's such a weird choice that doesn't mesh with any of the others at all.

The final Evo isn't even out and people already assume Sobble's a chameleon when it's classified as a water lizard. It's fucking pokemon it can be whatever it wants and besides of nothing major changes Gen 8 is pretty screwed anyways
