With all this discussion of shitty graphics and pokemon being cut out I just want sprites again, it fit so perfectly in the style and it's literally guaranteed to age so much better than any 3d models they can use

I want GameFreak to stop only showing one thing at a time in the games. There's no reason for the games to have to pause at every little action and tell you every individual thing like having a weather animation and weather message pop up separately with pauses in between as opposed to displaying both at the same time. Just streamline the fucking games.
It'll probably never happen because GameFreak sees it as tradition by now.

Just bringing everything they've removed back, including, as you mention, 2D.

They've backed themselves into this corner by graphicfagging out the ass, making story a focus rather than adventure/exploration and finding shit out on your own, and also not allowing 3D side series RPGs games to be made because they're graphicfagging.

The last one in particular is stupid because having shit like Stadium and Colosseum worked perfectly fine for scratching the graphic and animation itch for those who had it and no one would've cared if they didn't have all species at once unlike the main series.

Although tealistically, that should've been in the plan by default - a side series battle sim game that would be continuously updated into the future with new species. Ideally it would release for each platform with everything available up to when it released but if they're going to continuously update anyway it wouldn't matter much if it was released incomplete because it would always shortly be incomplete as new main series released.

I would love a 2D mode like DQXI but since pokemon is so widely popular in the world, and most people seem to view 3D as "progression" it will never happen. I'd like to see:
1. Seasons
2. Fast battle system that is snappy, 3D games have been so slow so far
3. Pokemon have different poses in new games rather than just standing there lifelessly
4. Camera that actually shows the whole pokemon. it made sense in the past with sprites, but now it's inexcusable.
5. Cloud saves

Not very creative so I can't think of much else

THISSSSSSSS BW and BW2 were very close to perfecting it IMO, I don't know if I've ever seen genuine complaints about the 2D looks.

It's too bad the gooks at GF will see this as a step backwards because it really is a great catch-all solution to a lot of their issues they're experiencing.

That or at least give some support to the romhack community so we can get better new regions and games somehow

Eh, some people hated the technique used to make the sprites move, but I thought they were perfectly fine. At least the Pokemon were lively and not just standing there dully, occasionally moving while waiting to attack.

I loved the animated sprites. They have more life than the 3D models. Scorbunny's 3D model is a step in the right direction though.

We need to go back to sprites. Octopath Traveler boasted the style and that really added to its charm among other things. If GF consider themselves indie developers, then they need to stop acting like AAA and embrace their indie feel by not falling for the peer pressure of 3D.

Oh without a doubt there are some models that are ironically fine (I feel Druddigon's was improved, but I like it anyways so biased; Ludicolo survived the transition). But then you've got things like Haxorus who is completely wrong and needs to be fixed like Glameow did, and then of course the cursed flying models.

They would never go back to sprites, unfortunately. It would be too jarring to the kids who grew up on 3D models, and the majority of the consumer base would think of it as a downgrade for superficial reasons. Plus it would throw away all the future proofing they did.

Pokemon also should react more to their environment. Pokemon starts a snow storm, have pokemon on the field that get hurt by it shivering. A pokemon should lie down when put to sleep. Maybe get excited after a critical hit and celebrate with your trainer after winning. Have way more idle animations and stances, too many pokemon just stand there and it's boring.
Also stop suspending flying types in the air.

2d takes way more effort to do right than 3d. if game freak can't do 3d right, even with another studio doing all the hard work to make future-proofed 3d models for them, they'll fuck up 2d too.
their 2d games were never visually impressive compared to other jrpgs or other games on their systems either.
