Easily the peak of Pokemon art. A lot of people praise Gen 1 style art, and I do love that too, but there's something nice about late Gen 2-3 art.

Gen 3 is in that weird spot where you can see gen 1-2 influence but also how designs are done in gen 4 onward.

Gen 2-3 art ages better.
Its digital coloring like modern artwork but retained the classic art style.

My first game was FireRed but I probably spent the most time on Emerald. This art style IS Pokemon to me.
