It's fucking surreal having to go to places and now having to deal with them and their idiot kids being on the internet and understand that throughout all modern history these hicks have been over a decade behind the real world in literally everything; but we all just either assumed they'd actually been keeping up, or that they'd died off. But no, there they are, in their little corner of the map shoving dirt and struggling to reverse engineer modern civilization using only the handful of scraps they can catch being swept off the table onto the floor as the next course of progress and development is being served. These are the kinds of people who were still using outhouses in 1900. People who didnt have fucking running water or electricity throughout the 1920s. No telephone or television until the fucking 1940s. And these are the same hicks who think plumbing and electrical engineering, and increasingly these days network management are the pinnacle of practical career skills while having no fucking idea where those skill sets came from. Religion isn't some outdated vestige of a primitive lost era, these people are. They're a few scant steps above chimps.
