Mew wasn't originally programmed in RG, it was added at the last second as a secret and most of the staff wasn't even aware

Mew is a known mythical entity in the Pokemon universe. It was registered in the PokéDex after Mewtwo because it hasn't been caught before but Mew's existence was debated even before then

I always found the classification of man-made pokemon strange. If there’s only one creature of a species in the entire world, how do you place it in a compendium? Would a newly created pokemon go at the end of the list or be inserted somewhere arbitrarily in the pokedex?
