Gives me too many Kabuto vibes. Would need to see its evolution before passing judgement because the design itself struggles to stand on its own.

Cute, but I can't tell what it is. Is it sandy rock? Is it rubber/scales? Is it flexible steel? Nothing comes to mind when I look at it, and I know if I were to come across one in the wild I wouldn't be able to tell at a glance what type it is. Rock? Steel? Rock/Steel? Normal? Looks amphibious. Water type, even?

I don't mean this in a negative way, but it has that Deviantart kind of feel to it, that a lot of amateurish designs have. I think it's the contrast of bright, saturated colors (the blue but especially the green) on a muted, off-white main color. The design and body shape itself is cute though.
First stages are alright but designs only come to fruition in their fully evolved forms. At times it feels pointless to judge a first stage mon because it's like critiquing an unfinished piece. There are so many parts to a Pokemon that need to tie in to its evolved forms that it becomes almost impossible to judge them in a vacuum. If you told me these don't evolve then I'd probably have to say they're failures across the board.
