The name explains it, Baton Pass lets slow users switch after absorbing a hit, allowing you to switch without killing the new member

WishPassing is used on bulky teams so you're supposed to pass the wish to a team member that can withstand an attack from the opposing Pokemon on the field. You can't always pass it to the member that needs it most. You have to play around your opponent and bait in the Pokemon that your wishpasser and favored recipient can handle on their own.

Bulky teams are struggling in the current metagame so unless you're running hard stall, I wouldn't recommend trying to form a core around it.

Specs Empoleon is a strange choice in general. I'd suggest replacing it with something like Specs Keldeo if you need raw power. What you're running right now is closer to semi-stall than it is to Balance or Bulky Offense, so I need to know what your actual plan is going into this. Do you want to end games quickly or do you want to repeatedly switch around and draw them out?

Team is dog shit, 3 ground weak, no resist or immune, specs empo which just sucks because everyone has ash gren checks and it doesnt do anything over that. Mega bro + Alom overlap in roles too much, rocks and spin are both on a lorb drill which seems horrible or you have them on a choice user not at all.

Balance means running a half-team defensive core and a half-team offensive core. Depending on which mons you consider "necessary", I could offer up some alternatives. I assume you put this team together without necessarily planning for any particular metagame threats, right?

I'd say keep Tyranitar but replace Band with Tyranitarite so it can function as a Stealth Rock setter while still pressuring Zapdos and other defensive staples.
Excadrill is fine the way it is.
Replacing Empoleon with a Specs Ash-Greninja would give you an immediate fast attacking presence without the need for sand, and can pressure mons like Lando and Celesteela and also give you a decent priority option.
From there, you'd be stacking electric weaknesses with a Celesteela + Toxapex core, but it helps alleviate the strain that your offensive mons will have to deal with and you'll still have switch-in opportunities against them with TTar and Excadrill. Round it off with something like Ferrothorn or even keep Amoonguss to take those thunderbolts and you'd have a very solid team to play around with.

I don't see what this team is trying to accomplish. You don't have the offensive tools to open doors for Excadrill or capitalize on TTar's trapping, nor do you have the resists, threat coverage, or longevity needed for an effective fat team. A lot of new players fall into the trap of thinking that a good "balance" team is just three "sweepers" and three "walls" without any consideration of what their actual win condition is or how mons complement each other; this team is a textbook example of that kind of thinking.

Because the anons in this thread are retarded. Sky Drop (and Dark Void) is whats ever been banned, not Sky Attack. It was banned due to a bug that made mons permanently invincible.

Similarly were anons saying Baton Pass was part of WishPass, which is like a combo thats borderline never been used because of the thin distribution of having both moves on 1 mon

Is the full list of fully evolved pokemon with those two moves, I am pretty sure wish baton pass Illumise is a randbats set, vap/umb was kind of a thing more so umbreon and xatu got u-turn.

Not OP but writing an RMT is actually kind hard for players who aren't very experienced since they want you to write 3 or 4 lines about why you chose each pokemon and it's intended role. Honestly beyond this attacks physically, this sweeps and this is a special wall they can't elaborate more, because there was not much more though put in.

It was sparesly used because there were basically no usable mons that had nothing better to do. Vaporeon/Umbreon were literally the only mons using it, and even then, Umbreon was using it because of Mean Look, not Wish. Everything else was a shitmon, or was had more viable sets using something else. If you wishpassed in any meta, any tier, any gen, 99% of the time baton pass wasn't actually involved because the other Pokemon that learned it like Jirachi and Blissey were better.

CelePex in general can whittle down most offensive teams, and those are the teams that Excadrill preys on best. I'd even say that Waterium-Z Greninja is an option to possibly burst down and break a defensive core that TTar and the rest struggle to handle.

Being able to break one of your checks and continue sweeping is way more valuable than the Life Orb boost, you only pass up the Z-move for Life Orb when something else can make better use of it and that's not the case here. I don't agree with reserving Excadrill as the 'dedicated cleaner' to begin with; realistically it's hard for you to close out games with it when Ash-Greninja and Landorus are the best mons in the tier, and since neither Mega Tyranitar nor pre-transformation Greninja are fantastic wallbreakers on their own, the flexibility of Excadrill's Z-move is appreciated.
