Isn’t weird that we don’t know anything about the mascot legendary Pokémon? When the SM box art legends were revealed, we saw their abilities and typing. Could there be a reason they didn’t reveal that info for SWSH?

That's not unusual. Off my the top of my head, Dusk Mane/Dawn Wings wasn't fully revealed for awhile, Xerneas was kept under wraps because it was Fairy, and a tweet from Pikachu's voice actress about Electric types hinted at Zekrom.

Other way around. The SM trailers gave us plenty of hype and things to speculate. Meanwhile SS has only served disappointment, especially since anyone with half a brain in this fanbase is now aware that GF isn't capable of anything that isn't half-baked.

They're half a new type, gallant and fighting (galante in portuguese localization, osado in spanish), only 3 new pokemon with the type in the trailers, all of them dual types.

Tell that to all the hype immediately after a trailer drops, the Gigantamax reveal sparked a lot of hype and speculation on Twitter especially. But then all the negativity poured in and ruined the moment.

I'm glad they're showing fuck all desu. I don't want the game spoiled so soon. I'd rather them not show much other than the starter evos and maybe a couple more Pokemon, but we all know that they're going to blow their load the month before release.

Wasn't it kinda same for Gen 5 and Gen 6 legendaries? We don't know their ability and type until we get more info after a while.
I thought i remember Game Freak say something about how they regretted the way they revealed all info during SM hype seasons, so that time it's won't be the same for Sword/Shield.

Not specifically Britain, but it could be going Norse again.
Geri and Freki were Odin's two wolves, who were depicted by his sword and his shield.
Odin also had two crows, Huginn and Muninn. If Eternatus is some kind of two headed Crow, then this is definitely where they're going with it.

By now for SuMo we basically had the whole game. GF has realized that maybe they shouldn't hand out the get for free, Espeon since SwSh2 will be the exact same + Zacian and Zamazento fusion
