Really the pokemon themselves when it comes to gameplay. I like to compare Pokemon to games like Kirby because, as easy as the game is, the hook is in the large variety of options you have at your disposal in order to overcome obstacles. Even better, the mons you receive end up making a team that appeals to you and one you can call your own. Coupled with a decent base for the battle system and you got a good game
