>>39577746I'll admit I like the Venusaur on the left more because I think it fits Venusaur more than the more monstrous and aggressive-looking right side (it's a peaceful creature who lords over the natural world). Venusaur's normal artwork also has elements of still looking quite menacing, but it still has a goofy adorable charm to it.
That being said though I agree with all the other choices, and even then Venusaur has much better official artwork that Sugimori didn't do. I just don't think that specific manga's depiction of the normal Venusaur is very fitting or accurate to the more gentle beast it really is (it's warts are now fist sized, it's claws went from small to gigantic for something based off of a toad and help the design look very cluttered, it's mouth is now lined with razor sharp teeth instead of just having a few like how most frogs have very few teeth, and it's foliage is now an unfocused mess).
