Anon, /vp/ hate Turner as he's the embodiment of everything their weeb arses will never be: Strong willed and brave enough to emigrate half a world away, to schlep at TPC Jpn until finally getting noticed by Game Freak and hired on to work designing and creating pokémon, while having input into the series.

Objectmons have been spread out throughout the generations, and most of his designs have more inspiration behind them, or at least extra concepts behind them, like the Vanillite line being sad when the snow is all melted.

Ohmura, the AD for Gen 7 also seemingly understood this fairly well but Turner, the cartoonist, clearly does not. He's drawing and letting people pass cartoons instead of following what makes Pokémon, Pokémon.

If you can't see the difference between what we've seen of Gen 8 so far and Gens 1 - 7 then you are just demonstrating you shouldn't ever be anywhere near the art for the games either.
